BALANCE OF LIFE

Balance of Life!!!

Once I was working in cardiac surgery hospital as medical officer. My Sir was saying like he has plan to go for shopping with his wife and children.

But suddenly a call came from emergency. A case of aortic dissection with mortality of 1-5% per hour if Operation NOT done immediately. Operation would take about 7 hour if goes smoothly else may take whole night. So, Sir called his wife and cancelled his plan of shopping. Madam and children were waiting for him and were ready.

It was on Saturday, so we could not help the patient economically and patient party couldn't manage blood for operation on time. Unfortunately patient died in emergency despite our full effort with CPR Advance Trauma Life Support.

I felt so sorry for the patient. I was sorry for my Sir too. Because he lost his patient in one hand and on other hand madam and his children were upset with him. So, after settling the issue at hospital, I told him NOT to make just phone call to say sorry to madam but rather he should go to home and say sorry.

RESPECT TO RECEIVE RESPECT

CONCEPT CHANGING ADVICE (FRIEND VS COLLEAGUE)

Concept changing advice from Mr. Michael Davis: :)

Mr. Davis was 55 years old when I met him. I reckon I was 21.
He honored me by calling me his friend. He asked me to call him just MICHAEL. With his life time experiences, he suggested like “We will quarrel when there is problem and we will have fun in good times as friends”.
But when we will be among seniors, juniors or other colleagues he wished that I shall call him MR. DAVIS.
I believe & trust that it was his life time learning and way to secure Dignity and provide Self-Respect to a True Friend among other people.

Respect to receive Respect. :)
Take care!

Have Patience and You will get everything!!!

"HAVE PATIENCE AND YOU WILL GET EVERYTHING"
Today I would like to share one of my experiences that I learned from my professor yesterday. He is one of the renowned Paediatric Surgeon of Bangladesh. I was assisting him for excision of choledochal cyst with cholecystectomy of 6 years old female patient.
When he opened the abdomen, there was huge cyst and it involved other vital organs too. Initially I felt like he was also confused. The dissection was very difficult. Everyone were in doubt if any definitive treatment could be provided to the patient. It was indeed difficult time for the surgeons which could have been unfortunate time for the patient.
But he was so calm and steady. He dissected the structures very slowly and perfectly. He advised us, as operating surgeon to assisting surgeons, like “HAVE PATIENCE, YOU WILL GET EVERYTHING”. He was saying about the structures which we were looking for during dissection and finally he dissected the organs so nicely that we got everything as we wished and the operation was successful.
The simple sentences he said during operation got imprinted in my heart and mind. He taught me how to be calm and steady during difficult time. I believe his advice for us “Have patience, you will get everything” applies in real life too. We have to face many difficulties in life and we need to stay calm and have patience to be successful.J

NEVER GIVE UP

"Never give up on something you really want. It's difficult to wait, but more difficult to regret."
